Wash hands and genital area with soap and water.
Disinfect the urethral opening with antiseptic (e.g., Dettol), then rinse with water to remove excess antiseptic.
Discard the first few drops of urine into the toilet, then collect the midstream in the sterile container provided by the lab.
The sample must reach the lab within 2 hours if collected at home.
Avoid taking antibiotics for at least 48 hours before the test.
🚰 24-Hour Urine Collection:
Empty the bladder completely into the toilet at the start time (note the time).
Collect all urine passed after that into a clean, dry container until the same time on the next day.
Store the collected urine in a refrigerator until it is delivered to the lab.
⏱️ Three Consecutive Days Urine Test:
Collect the first morning urine sample for 3 consecutive days.
🩸 Lipid Profile:
Fasting for 10 to 12 hours is required (water is allowed).
🍬 Fasting Blood Sugar:
Fasting for 6 to 8 hours is required (water is allowed).
🍽️ 2-Hour Postprandial Blood Sugar:
- The 2-hour timing starts from the beginning of the meal.
- The meal should be finished within 10 minutes.
- If the patient is on diabetes medication, they should take it as prescribed.
- Please arrive at the lab 15 minutes before the scheduled test time.
😮💨 Three Consecutive Days Sputum Test:
- Collect the first morning sputum sample after rinsing the mouth with water.
- Samples with saliva only (without sputum) will not be accepted.
- Bring a fresh sample to the lab each day for 3 consecutive days.
🧪 Semen Analysis:
Abstain from intercourse or ejaculation for 4 days before the test.
It is recommended to collect the sample at the lab and ensure that all of the sample, including the initial drops, are placed in the provided container.
If collected at home, the sample must reach the lab within 20 minutes.

Avoid intercourse for 2 days before the test.
Do not wash the vaginal area on the day of the test.
Avoid antibiotics for 48 hours before the test.
💩 Stool Culture:
- Use the special container provided by the lab.
- The sample must reach the lab within 2 hours of collection.
- Do not use diapers or cardboard boxes for the sample.
- Avoid antibiotics for 48 hours before the test.
🧔 PSA Test:
Avoid endoscopy or catheterization for 10 days before the test.
Abstain from intercourse for 48 hours.
Follow 24-hour urine collection instructions as previously mentioned.
Avoid tea, coffee, biscuits, vanilla, bananas, pineapples, tomatoes, and eggplants before the test.
💊 Asthma Medication Level Monitoring:
Take the medication regularly for 5 days before the test.
No vomiting or diarrhea for at least 48 hours before the test.
One blood sample is taken before the morning dose to measure the minimum drug level.
Another sample is taken 4 hours after the dose to measure the peak level.
🧪 Prostate Massage Test (Urine Before & After Massage):
Abstain from intercourse for 4 days.
Hold urine for 1 hour before the test to collect a sample before and after prostate massage.
It is preferable to avoid antibiotics for 24 hours before the test.
